From The President
Dear Friends of Ira Dorsey,
Have you recently compared the cost of college now to when you graduated? If you have a college-aged student, then you are keenly aware of these costs. Expenses related with college continue to rise along with the demanding requirements to get in. The Ira Dorsey Scholarship Endowment Fund (IDSEF) aims to bridge this gap by providing deserving college-bound students the financial means to pursue their dreams of a higher education.
Each year we conduct fundraising activities to fund the scholarships that the foundation awards. We sift through countless applications in order to choose the winners. While the applicants come from all walks of life and plan to pursue exciting courses of study, the one thing that they all have in common is that they all have a need to help achieve their college dream. We invite you to help them pursue their dreams by donating a tax-deductible contribution to our annual fund-raising events
- Scholarship Golf Tournament – 5 April 2019
- IDSEF 5K Fun Run & Walk – 13 April 2019
- Black and Old Gold Scholarship Ball – 15 June 2019
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest – 19 January 2020
We rely on fundraising and donations to fund the scholarships. We depend on the generosity of partner organizations and individuals like you to help us succeed in our mission. Can we count on your financial support today? As a 501 (c) (3) organization, all donations to the IDSEF are tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
